SUGGESTED FORMAT FOR PROJECT PROPOSALS
I. Abstract
This part should encapsulate the whole project. It should summarize the objectives of your project and how they plan to be accomplished in one or two paragraphs. Do not confuse this with an introduction which sets the background for the project. The abstract is a very important part of the report because often people will decide on whether to read the rest of the report based on what they read in this section. Although it comes first in the report it is often written last so the author can be sure of what is written in the report before summarizing it.
II Introduction
This part should discuss the background for the project, what has been done before and what need your project addresses
III Objectives
A clear statement of what is to be accomplished by your project should be made in this section.
IV. Plan of Action
This section should discuss the methods you will use to accomplish your objectives. It should clearly state any tasks required to accomplish your overall objective. Supporting information to indicate proposal can be accomplished should be included in this part. This supporting information should include a preliminary design verified by calculations and analysis.
V. Time Schedule
Most proposals include a section on time scheduling. The time that is required to accomplish a task should be given as well as a time relationship between each of the tasks. This can often be summarized in a graphical form.
VI. Evaluation
This section should show how you plan to evaluate your project. This section discusses how you plan to test if it accomplished your objectives.
VII. Budget
Tabulate the estimated cost of parts used to construct the project.
