The Graduate Colloquium Committee cosponsors lectures, seminars, and creative presentations that make it helpful for graduate students. The goal of this colloquium is to encourage interaction among graduate students, specifically between graduate students who are actively researching a problem and those who have not yet started their research. Speakers, who are recognized experts in their fields will discuss their research or a related introductory topic on a level which should be accessible to non-specialists. The discussions will be geared toward graduate students in the beginning of their program, but all are invited to attend. This invitation explicitly includes undergraduate students. The colloquium cosponsors lectures, seminars, and creative presentations that make it possible for graduate students, university community and general public to hear and meet leading scholars, artists, professionals, and public figures. The Graduate Colloquium gives graduate students both an
opportunity to develop the skills of public presentation and the chance to
become acquainted with the research interests of fellow graduate students.
